Dear

"Spring is full of flowers
Summer foaming overflows
Autumn brings the fullness
Winter the silence"

This is the text of a seasonal canon by Pedro Dubs that I learned in my childhood, and it has been running through my mind these last few days as we were approaching the full moon, so I felt the impulse to share it with you as many of us will soon be celebrating "harvest thanksgiving festivals" to honour the beautiful bounty and abundance that autumn brings us.

So I hope you enjoy and celebrate a wonderful harvest in your inner and outer worlds at this time of the year, and please find below the latest harvest of updates and opportunities from the GEN network.

News from GEN Europe
Ecovillage Essentials Webinar Series

We're delighted to announce the first of a new series of webinars, Ecovillage Essentials, showcasing the wisdom and experiences of our network to the wider public. For the first series, we're focusing on Legal, Economic, and Governance Models for Communities, drawing on the experiences of several of our members. Join Ramin from Cooperative Oasis sharing how they raised millions of euros to support community startups; Steffen Emrich's seminar on sociocracy in community; and the Pas-Sages model for ecovillage legal setup and goverance! Please do help us spread the word to the general public as this will also help raise valuable funds for GEN EU. Full, Aspiring and Blossom members can access the whole series for free and did already receive their discount codes.

Our new projects team

We are happy with the return of our projects coordinator, Fanny, who has been on extended maternity leave until August. She and Dario now form the new projects team, dividing the responsibilities that were previously held by just one person. While Dario will keep up the efforts of securing new projects in the future, Fanny will focus on the oversight of our current projects. We are excited for this new constellation, and of course happy to both have Fanny back in the office, and to keep Dario as a staff member permanently. In the last weeks, we submitted Communities for Local Green Deals, an ambitious project to facilitate dialogue among European citizens and local policy-makers about sustainability, climate change and grassroots democracy. We also received the unfortunate news that COMMIFY, a project that was submitted in March to support individuals to join existing communities or start their own through a learning platform and a match-making app, was not approved. We'll keep working with our partners to further develop this idea and continue promoting the diffusion of the ecovillage model.

Celebrate the contribution of Ross Jackson to GEN!

As many of you will know, Ross Jackson and his late wife Hildur were great figures in the history of GEN, providing decades of financial and energetic support to the network through the Gaia Trust. On October 21st, Gaia Education is organising a celebration of Ross' contributions to the ecovillage movement with an in-person and online event, and you're invited! You can sign up to attend (either in Findhorn or online) and share your memories of Ross.

Share your memories of Ross

We also invite you to sign the e-card - even if you did not know him personally, we invite you to share appreciation for his years of support that enabled GEN's work for so long

Update on Announcements List

Due to a recent incident with GEN EU's email server the announcements list for our members is no longer working. It hasn't been used a lot recently and also we were trying to streamline our communication with members to the monthly Moon Cycle News. But we are aware that occasionally there are time sensitive announcements that could be really peer to peer, for now please do send them membership@gen-europe.org and we will share them with the other members asap.

Also please note that the GEN EU forum can be used for direct peer to peer exchange too and that we are currently setting up an email list for just project related announcements, if you would like to be added, please write to Dario at dario@gen-europe.org

A Green Road leads displaced Ukrainians to shelter in ecovillages

"The Green Road project has helped over 3,000 displaced Ukrainians find safe housing in ecovillages throughout Ukraine and across Europe — including the idyllic, rural community of Hallingelille, just outside of Ringsted, in Denmark. The project is a testament to the power of international friendships and networks in times of crisis."
