Happy late New Year!

We enter the new year with lots of activities in the network :)

The National Network just took place place in the Ecovillage Pourgues, France and the Training of Trainers for the Launch & Thrive project is happening just now in Torri Superiore, Italy.

There are many beautiful moons ahead in 2024 and you will again here from us with the snow moon in February.

Exciting news - we've got a brand new, interactive network map with which you can now explore the inspiring networks, ecovillages and ecoprojects near you!

And watch this space for more developments that will make this tool an even more comprehensive guide to all things ecovillage! E.g. how to show members of members - if this is something you are interested in exploring with us, please write to us at membership@gen-europe.org

Now is the time to bring your gifts of workshops, talks, music, DJ sets and other performances to the European Ecovillage Gathering 2024!

Anything is welcome: permaculture workshops, sharing key practices from your community, offering dance sessions or singing circles, yoga classes or DJ set, Your creativity is welcome! If you would like to offer a workshop/other contribution in the Gathering please send in you proposal via this form (insert link) by February 4th 2024. The 2024 Gathering will take place in Ängsbacka, Sweden, from 20-25 August.

Please spread the news to anyone in your community or circles who could be interested in co-creating the Gathering with us!

Many young and new faces as well as some older network weavers and a total of 15 networks were present at this year's meeting of the national networks last weekend.

Many collaborative open space sessions were held and some new ideas took root and are now being transformed into projects.

Since the approval of the new Membership Scheme at the extraordinary General Assembly on the 20th of December 2023, we are eagerly working on their presentation on the new website.

It will be launched in February and then we will spread to word and are looking forward to welcoming new member.

Changes for members:

Our full members are not affected by any other change than the slight increase in membership fees & that they are now serving as buddy communities/networks.

All aspiring members from 2023 that haven't contacted us yet to confirm that they meet the new criteria are now categorized as ecoprojects.

We are thrilled to share a sneak peek of the "Future Roots Gathering" an inspiring event in the making to unfold in Damanhur, Italy, in October 2024.

This unique event, a collaborative effort between NextGEN Europe (the youth European branch of the Global Ecovillage Network) and YTS (Yes To Sustainability), aims to bring together a variety of people with minds passionate about sustainable living and community-driven solutions, with a special focus on youth and future. 

Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months and if you can please leave a donations to make this gathering possible.

GEN Ukraine warmly invites to the reporting conference after 5 years of developing ecovillages in Ukraine.

Despite the ongoing war in Ukraine, they continue their activities and unite people around the idea of a better world in communities.
On February 10-11, they are holding a report conference in Lviv to share achievements and results of the collaboration with the Danish network of ecovillages LOES.
Lviv is a relatively safe city close to the Polish border and GEN Ukraine will be happy to see their  international friends.

A great opportunity to explore the Danish ecovillage network, get acquainted with the ecovillage lifestyle and gain skills working with either project work, communication and membership administration or educational activities. All costs are covered by the ESC programme (transport, accommodation, feeding, insurance and pocket money).

The Community of Living Ethics invites everybody to take part in the weekly Middle East Vigil on behalf of the situation in Israel\Palestine to come together as global citizens, and create a space that can hold the divide and to call on higher support for this painful reality to lift towards resolution.
