Invitation to a series of sessions during the Gathering: Members shaping GEN Europe's future
During the gathering the council of GEN Europe is offering a daily emergent space for collective reflection, inquiry, and co-creation. Building on the General Assembly of GEN Europe, we will explore together the topics, questions, and tensions that are essential for the evolution of ecovillages and the wider regenerative movement. Themes may include political positioning, eldership, governance, identity beyond activism, collective responsibility and accountability, collective trauma, cultural maturity, and the evolving role of GEN in shaping regenerative futures. Questions around networks and systems change may also emerge, such as: What is GEN’s role beyond communities? How can communities take responsibility in times of global crises and transformation? This is a living cultural incubator - an emergent space shaped by GEN members, the spaceholders, and the collective intelligence of the network.

All members of GEN Europe are warmly invited, including aspiring members, national and transnational networks, and delegates from GEN regions beyond Europe. To support continuity and depth in the conversations, we invite participants to join all four sessions if possible. Leaving earlier is always possible, while joining is only possible during the first or second session slot.

We look forward to welcoming you!

We're thrilled to announce that Heart of Ecovillages - GEN Europe's newest partner magazine - is releasing its first issue this July at the GEN Europe Gathering.

Heart is a print magazine for the ecovillage and intentional communities movement. They exist to return the voices of the field to the people who carry them, to connect what is dispersed, and to make the wider movement visible to itself. Each issue brings long-form stories, practical guides, community voices, and art from the people building regenerative life together.

Issue 1 is themed Boundaries and Belonging.

Pre-orders are open now. Pick up your issue at the Gathering, or have it shipped home.

They're also seeking collaborators across many areas in the months ahead. If something here speaks to you, reach out at editor@heartofecovillages.org and tell us what you'd like to bring.

€45,000 available for ecovillages developing energy projects

Does your community share a solar installation, a biomass heating system, a micro-hydro setup, or is one in the works? You may already qualify as a Renewable Energy Community under EU law, and there's a significant grant to prove it.

The European Energy Communities Facility has just launched its second call for proposals, offering €45,000 to help emerging (and already-established) energy communities across Europe develop a robust business plan. The grant covers technical and financial assessments, feasibility studies, legal set-up, and other pre-development work. Already-established communities exploring new services are also welcome to apply.

The only requirements: being registered as a legal entity, complying with one of the EU definitions for energy communities, and being based in an eligible country. The Facility's eligibility self-check tool makes it quick to find out where you stand.

👉Apply here by 5 July!
